Reminders:

Please refer to Power School in order to keep track of student averages and missing assignments.

Corrections are due the day after graded assignments/tests are returned.  Tests must be signed by parents.

Corrections will not be accepted if a student was absent on the day of the test.

Homework passes will not be accepted in this class because homework is crucial in order to practice the concepts covered in class.

Textbooks MUST be kept at home for reference and homework assignments.

Tutoring for 6th Grade will be held after school on Tuesdays from 3:15-3:45.

Tutoring for 5th Grade will be held after school on Thursdays from 3:15-3:45.

6th Grade:

Monday:  Students will translate algebraic expressions.

Monday Homework:  Textbook p. 31 (1-10) and p.35 (1-5)

Tuesday:  Students will translate algebraic equations.

Tuesday Homework: 

Wednesday:  Students will combine like terms and evaluate algebraic expressions.

Wednesday Homework: Textbook p. 33 (1-7)

Thursday:  Students will solve one step addition equations.

Thursday Homework: Textbook p. 37 (1-8) and p. 39 (1-4)

Friday:  Quiz 2; Students will solve one step subtraction equations.

***Please note that late homework assignments will receive a maximum grade of 70.***

 

5th Grade:

Monday:  Students will multiply and apply the properties of multiplication.

Monday Homework:  Textbook p.68-69 (2-24 evens); Study Multiplication facts 0-7

Tuesday:  Students will use patterns to multiply by multiples of 10.

Tuesday Homework:  

Wednesday:  Quiz 2: Mult. Facts 0-4; Students will use patterns to multiply by 100, 1000 and their multiples.

Wednesday Homework: Textbook p. 70-71 (5-50 mult. of 5)

Thursday:  Students will estimate products of whole numbers and money amounts.

Thursday Homework: Textbook p. 72-73 (5-55 mult. of 5)

Friday:  Quiz 3: Mult. Facts 5-7; Students will multiply with zeros in the multiplicand.
